Have they changed the spelling of 'horny'?
I tend to think I have been a Free Republic subscriber or watcher from It’s startup. I have seen the constituency change over the years I tend to believe that such change is natural as to time and events. However, I strongly believe the goal/intent of FR and Jim have remained the same. As such I am at loss as to why a believer in FR of any length of time would want to take a pass because of unimportant change(s as to spirit and goals.
I blame AOL (America on Line), the internet used to be a great resource and then AOL happened. Suddenly masses of ignorant rude people were in my internet face. Man that really pissed me off. And I told them what ignorant rude deviant disgusting idiots they were. Night after night I’d battle these children of the lessor gods that were invading my internet. After a while flaming the AOL people on usenet news became one of my favorite things to do. LOL, yeah FR is not what it used to be, nothing is what it used to be. Get used to it.

I learned about FR from a friend, back when FReepers had local get togethers. I lurked for many years, through several mail identities, but I signed up and started donating this year. Why?
I dislike trolls.
They invade what they fear and try to discourage better people/intellects, try to weaken us. I will *not* allow this. I don’t allow undereducated parasites space in my life, nor will I let them control the message. Don’t allow them oxygen. Don’t give up.
