FULL TITLE: Man proposes to his boyfriend in Texas Methodist Church that prohibits gay marriage - and gets a standing ovation from the congregation

A Texas man gave his boyfriend a proposal to remember when he got down on one knee in front of the entire congregation at their local Methodist Church – receiving a standing ovation in the process.

Trevor Harper, 36, and Davis Covin, 30, who live in Austin, have been dating since 2006 and have been proud and active members of the First United Methodist Church of Austin for the past two years.

Mr Harper said the support they have received has been a huge blessing to their relationship, especially as a gay couple in Texas. 'That church has been, for us, really the first time we have really been able to live out loud as a couple,' he told BuzzFeed News.

Good pic. I see the lady behind them, to the right, covering her face. I wonder if that is out of disgust, or some other reason?

No ...she’s clapping as another view shows...they’re all in “it” up to their chins....they have no concept of God or the Bible in pulling this stuff off in Church....they are willingly blinding themselves to all that’s good....for they’ve accepted evil.

TX is full of liberals who are growing in number and slowly learning how to organize politically. The future is not bright.

He looked down into his brown eyes, saying,
"Say a prayer for me."
He threw his filth upon him, saying
Satan will make us see.

They never saw God coming,
said God had no dog in this fight.
and now both are surely headed,
to the place of eternal night.

There were seven Mexican homos, in the firepit of hell.
They were praying for the jotos, who should have been in jail.
When the Godlessness had ended, because that's when Jesus came,
God said, "You two are going to hell,
this is not a game."

(Someone else can finish writing the parody...point made.)

I’m an OT believer, but am agnostic with regard to the NT. However I love singing in choir at an Anglican-Catholic parish, and take their liturgy quite seriously and respectfully. Yet if this ever happened therein I’d loudly let everyone concerned know right then why I was leaving.

Eat a BLT sandwich in a mosque and see what happens.

This story is a lie.

As a homosexual, it would have been down on both knees.

The absence of the Holy Spirit leads to a vacuum for sin nature and becomes a home for demons. No wonder churches are turning into mosque’s. God will not be mocked, he will simply raise his hand of protection. This is his judgement...His judgement is coming to our land, the evidence is all around and it is ramping up all around us.

Keep hold of the Holy Spirit that marks us and drives our hearts so we will always know what is good and what is from God.

Thank you, I’ve made my choice. For me...Organized religion is for man, not for God. I find I don’t need someone telling me how to live once a week. I already know...and I make daily choices based on my faith. I am proud of who I am and can stand tall without support. In some ways the corruption of the church has given me a better direction, God’s will? I’ve made a good choice.

'Your lifestyle, your sexuality, your choices, who you love — they don’t define your right to search out the faith that makes you feel whole,' he said.

And "feeling whole" is what Christian faith is all about, isn't it? Didn't Jesus say that right before he skipped out on the cross?

A couple of months back there were some articles on FR about two men from somewhere
out from Austin coming to Austin to get their marriage license. I don’t remember
the detail but there were some threads on FR.

The first day that gays could get licenses brought the following to Travis County....

snip
On Friday, the Travis County Clerk’s Office issued 313 marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

A church that will not deal with heresy in its midst is in tacit agreement with it. It matters not what their “official” position is.
