“Art therapy” is using painting, music, or other arts to help the mentally screwed up. The therapist needs to be an artist, but the whole thing is really about guiding the mentally screwed up patient in using art (painting, particularly) to express his problems and deal with them. It’s supposed to be particularly helpful with abused children.

There aren’t many jobs in the field, and they don’t pay well.

Taking out student loans to pursue an Art Therapy degree is terribly risky.

She should have opted for the degree in Lesbian Dance Theory, better job prospects in SoCal.

Some attention whore victim needs to be more creative in getting attention, now that she’s out of college. It’s so easy to be the victim in college.

On the other hand, I can sympathize with those students who took on huge debt for college not realizing they would have to pay it off eventually. Everybody does it! She wants Hillary! or some other Socialist to make tax payers pay off her loans. She’s bringing her desperate need to the newspapers.

To make matters worse, he opined, they never even taught him how to type.

Learning how to type is probably the smartest thing I ever did.

Too many people have fallen for the “do what you love and you’ll get rich” mantra, without searching first for ways to actually earn a living wage for it.

Reminds me of the saying: "Follow your dream . . . but die broke!"

While my father always said, "You have to like what you do," not all of us are lucky to find a job in which we have passion. Sometimes just having a decent job where you find some pleasure & competence is enough. Especially when you're either surviving or working to support others.

I foresee a lot of conflicts among those who were told to "do their own thing" versus taking more substantial employment for the sake of marriage, children, etc. Being practical makes a person marriageable -- and marriage minded. I don't think kids are truly being prepared for marriage.

“Just whores and skanks. “

And not very many of them at that.
