Any “barf alert” thread is going to feature an article involving someone either mendacious or plain out loony. (Which is why I love FReeper comments!)

The Clintons are the best example
Of “mendacious” by any tradition
Their photos are in dictionaries
Right beside of the definition-

Whether the meaning of “is” is
What is making up their chatter
If confronted, Bill or Hillary
Will just say it doesn’t matter

And if some facts do not fit
Into the narrow, royal style
Of the wannabe queen Hillary
She’ll dig up another FBI file...

I thought of Burl Ives in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” too-the first time I heard that word was when my mom took us as little kids to the movie, and Ives as Big Daddy was complaining about too much mendacity-I liked the sound of the word and we were saying it when we got home. My dad asked us where we got that and we told him-and he asked my mom why she had taken us to see a movie that clearly was intended for adults...

I turned on Fox to see what went on in the world while I was at work, and saw that a lunatic ex-employee killed two of his former co-workers, then offed himself in VA-not only had he been fired for being a troublemaker a couple of times before, he had been led away by cops when he was fired from the station in VA, and had ranted on social media-doesn’t anyone suggest that people like that seek therapy? They are obviously emotionally unstable...

It is terrible-and of course control freaks are whining about guns-they should be putting that effort into trying to assist a person to get therapy if that person is obviously on a destructive path, but liberals are just dilettantes, and can’t be getting their little hands dirty-so someone like that insane killer gets under the radar, murders people on video, and liberals blame gun laws and other people...

My sentiments as well. Sometimes a word can spark long forgotten memories.

Your poetry is excellent. I have already awarded the Plumed Pen award but you deserve special recognition.

Thank you!

I think moms just get so used to hearing small kids parrot words and phrases as they tag along that they don’t really think about the context of the words-or the fact that kids are sponges from day one when it comes to both what they hear and see.

I tried very hard to watch what my own cub was seeing and hearing at a young age, but she still managed to surprise me.
