A relative is a NY certified architect. Back in 2001 he said that the buildings collapsed because the burning aviation fuel was so hot that it burned through the steel beam insulation which caused them to fail. This person was pretty far left, but did not believe any of the right and left wing conspiracy theories regarding bombs in the building and the like. I read your link, but saw nothing about a two hour rule. I think I was told 1 hour, but my memory might be wrong after 14 years.

I remember being told two hours about 25 years ago when I did a short stint as a licensed asbestos abatement worker. Among other jobs, I worked on a ceiling scrape where the stuff had been gunned onto the structural steel in a school building that was being renovated. We had to use full face respirators, tyvek suits, rubber gloves/boots, and we showered out of the work zone, so anyone in their street clothing that got covered like she did must have breathed and swallowed frightening amounts of the cr@p.
