It just reinforces my sexist opinion :-)
Here is another interesting article about trying to train men and women together with different standards.
It was an interesting read.
On one hand, I respect what she was trying to do.
On the other hand, it was an impossible task, and I think she really believed female recruits could perform the same physically as male recruits...which they can’t. That is unrealistic, as evidenced by them finishing a half mile behind a male unit on a march.
In the end, I don’t think it was a win for anyone...not the officer, not the women, and not the Marines. But that is the pickle this type of thing has put them all into, I believe.
