Hell, Ukraine’s population was lower in 1940 than it was in 1930.

Look up Holomodor, and you’ll know why those people welcomed the Nazis.

Hard to believe they honor Dirlewanger and named a EuroMaidan battalion after him today in eastern Ukraine.
That whole are has a sickness that still lives on in many people.

As for welcoming Nazis, that’s a curiosity. The article was mostly about Lviv. Lviv was a Polish city during the Holomodor and wasn’t included in that atrocity. They didn’t become Soviet until sept of 39, then were invaded by Nazis in June of 41. So any welcoming of Nazis had to be because of the 20 months of Soviet occupation, not really for the Holomodor which didn’t hit them as Poles in 1932 or 1933.
