When Asif Quraishi came out as gay and began to perform as a drag queen it caused tensions in his family and brought death threats against him and his parents.
Homosexuality is one of the last taboos for the British Asian community. But it is a subject tackled by Asif head-on in a new documentary for Channel 4.
Asif told BBC Breakfast about the problems he faced coming out and how he is hoping to help others who face the same difficulties.

Oh really? The British Asian community is just one big Kumbaya-fest other than the "taboo" on homosexuality? LOL. So honor killings, raping 13 year old girls, treating women like chattel, advocating killing converts from Islam, attending "Behead those who insult Islam" rallies and the like are all part of the new PC tolerance. And even when it comes to homosexuality, I'd call advocating killing gays a bit more than a "taboo."
I could care less if some Brit muslim homo ‘comes out’. We don’t need to post this kind of s4!t here.
I do not really care.
Maybe he could get a job at the White House.
He’d fit right in there.
From the title I thought this was another Obama thread.
So he just puts on a burkha. What’s the problem?
But isn't it ironic?! All the atrocities committed by muzzies, but the one thing the press wants us to embrace is the horrible plight of the innocent, sanctified, virtuous and righteous tranny.
The horror and indignation being felt around the world right now will surely put an end to this whole “Religion of Peace” thingy.
What the hell is “British Asian”? There is a big part of the problem. You are either British or you are not, just like here with this African American crap. You are American or you are not. Period.
Every freak deserves his own TV show on the BBC...
Asif came from Tehran, I-R-A-N
Hitchhiked her way up to Great Bri-tain.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her legs and then he was she - she said:
Hey Mo, take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey Shiek, take a walk on the wild side.
