They have been called oasis since the late 1960’s early 1970’s if not earlier. ONLY on the Tollways. Everywhere else, they're REST STOPS.
BTW, the State of IL has been closing down the "Oasis'"

It's not "fake" nor is it "satire" .... the original poster deliberately (IMO) created a false and misleading title. Reading the original article clearly states that Illinois DOES NOT allow anyone of any "faith" cover their faces for a drivers license photo.
BTW: I get sucked in once in awhile myself. My bullsh*t detector just happens to be working tonight. :-)
