Not on the day I was born, but years later after I grew up I did. Then too, when I was born I was so speechless I didn’t talk for a year and a half ... or so.

On the day I was born, the headline in our local newspaper read, "Sabres Battle MiGs over Pyongyang."

I Want to Be With You Always by Lefty Frizzell topped some of the popular music charts. Rocket 88 by Jackie Brenston & His Delta Cats sat atop others. On still others, King Cole's Too Young was Number One.

Day 340 of WWII. My youngest grandson got a hoot out of the sites for my birthday. His first comment was “Good grief grams do you realize you have lived three-fourths of a century?” When you are 14 that seems like forever, when you are the one who is three-fourths of a century, it doesn’t seem like so long. Where has all that time gone?

Stalin had a stroke the day I was born and died four days later.

In other words, Stalin Kicked the Bucket.

I won’t, Google doesn’t need to know what day i was born.”

They already know that plus what you bought at the store last time you went shopping and a whole lot more.

Absolutely nothing of interest happened on the day I was born.

That was about to change.

I was too young the day I was born to use Google or any other search engine. Not to mention they hadn't been invented yet. <rim shot>

It was a quiet day. But the top 5 songs were by Tab Hunter, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Perry Como, and Charlie Gracie

That day must have been around the time the Treaty of Rome was signed, with the overwhelming approval of most Europeans. Today, many Europeans probably don't think the treaty, which led to the European Union, was such a hot idea. Other things going on at about that time would have been the sensational Senate hearings into labor racketeering conducted by Sen. John McClellan (D-ark.), Joe McCarthy's successor as chairman of the Committee on Government Operations.

Norris Poulson, the Republican mayor of Los Angeles would have also been cruising to an election victory for a second term, crushing his nearest opponent, car dealer Bob Yeakel. Yeakel, who called himself "the lucky Dutchman" sponsored Sunday afternoon auto races on TV. His luck ran out when his plane crash landed on the San Bernardino Freeway in November, 1960, killing him.

July 8th, 1966, the Beatles released the song “Nowhere Man” on EP. BTW, Nowhere Man was originally, and still is, my CB radio handle and I chose it long before I found out that song was released on the day I was born.

Yes, I was born mid-way between the Treaty of Rome and Poulson’s reelection. I’m impressed with how you figured that out!

Cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg died on the day I was born. That’s about it. According to Google, December 7, 1970 was pretty uneventful.
