BUDS to be opened up to women.

Washington (CNN)The U.S. Navy is preparing to allow women into the ranks of its SEAL teams, the Navy's chief operations officer told Defense News on Tuesday.

"Why shouldn't anybody who can meet these (standards) be accepted? And the answer is, there is no reason," Adm. Jon Greenert told the publication. "So we're on a track to say, 'Hey look, anybody who can meet the gender non-specific standards, then you can become a SEAL.'"

If women can pass the unit's demanding training requirements, Greenert said, they will be allowed into the elite force. Officials did not reveal to Defense News when they plan to allow women to compete for a spot.

What a pathetic joke of a “transformation”. Thanks those of you who voted for these criminal malignancies. Thanks a lot... Many will ultimately die because of this social engineering.

How many women are in the NFL?

If they could make it, they would be in it. There is nothing the fans would like more than a girl playing linebacker.

I will believe those two women made it through Ranger Training when Jesus comes up to me, taps me on the shoulder and says: “They really did it”.

You know it’s not “IF” but “WHEN” they pass.

There will be women SEALS in our lifetime because like the fire service,

police, and all 4 branches of service, the govt hacks will force lower

standards onto the instructors. They will have female observers breathing

down their necks, making sure the women recruits are treated “FAIRLY”.

"Why shouldn't anybody who can meet these (standards) be accepted?

Do you mean the current stringent standards?

Something tells me that won't be the case.

Are women compelled to register for the draft yet?

She'll never do it.

You may be right. But the marines did stop the nonsense of women in infantry officer school. They tried it, but no woman could meet the std.

“That’s sick in the head”

I’m retired USN (1997) they put females on my ship (AOE) the men picked up the slack.

Put a ship with all females, especially a cargo humping ship and they would fail miserably! And that’s why that’ll never happen!

They can’t meet the current requirements, not a single chic in the world can. But even if they could it is a bad idea. You don’t make special operations better by recruiting the least qualified applicants. If you want a risk averse and feminized Spec Ops that is no more effective than an administrative unit then allowing women to join is the best way to accomplish that.

I got off my ship and out of the NAVY in 93, right before women were put on my ship (LSD).

According to my ship mates it sounds like it was much like your ship, women not being able to do certain jobs so men had to pick up the slack.

I feel sorry for todays male sailor. Working on a male only ship was the best experience.
