Another thing, Gratia. You haven’t created an “about” page yet. How long have you been posting on FR? Let us know something about yourself.

I was confused by the name. At first I thought you had changed positions. I then noticed the t. Whew! Glad you’re still on board.

You don't need to sell me on Cruz, he already has my vote if he gets the nomination. He's also only 44 years old so if he loses to Trump, not the end of the world as he'll have plenty more opportunities for the presidency. We just can't afford to have another Bush get the nomination.

I don't care about Trump's past any more than I cared about Ronald Reagan's past back when he was a Democrat and divorcing his first wife.

Helping Hillary by attacking her? The delusion runs strong.

“So you see that ad as being pro-Hillary and calling someone a chump is not name calling?”

I see that ad as chump bait either way. Inconsequential for Hillary in the long run, very consequential way before hand on whether a genuine conservative gets the nomination.

I respectfully disagree with CEM, who very much is a wise person.

Here is the disagreement: CEM calls Trump a recent convert.

I believe CEM is being too kind. Neither CEM nor I nor most of us know if Trump is a convert or a charlatan.

He could be either, but there is no possible way for us to know. And given his history and his seeming inability to speak coherently, along with his default manner of using insults as a weapon, I personally would be fearful of Trump using me as a chump for Hillary’s sake.

And there is not a single person out there who can construct a coherent argument why Trump should be trusted. Go ahead and try. Because he now says things we like?

Meanwhile, we have another completely trust-worthy, coherent, brilliant, clever, totally conservative candidate. But he speaks in complete sentences and speaks like a mature adult, so that seems to disqualify him.

Democrat heads exploding? Don’t think so. The left loves Trump and hope he sticks around as long as possible.

Actually, it was Gateway Pundit to Western Journalism (complete with annoying pop ups) which embedded Instagram, which embedded YouTube.

“I don’t care about Trump’s past any more than I cared about Ronald Reagan’s past back when he was a Democrat and divorcing his first wife.”

Trump started saying the “right” things seventeen minutes ago.

Reagan was giving brilliant coherent speeches in defense of conservative constitutional values for years before he ran for governor.

I am really stumped, sincerely so, how does the example of Reagan not definitively lead a person to rule out Trump? Trump and Reagan? Really?

Doesn’t the example of Reagan lead to the conclusion that Trump cannot be trusted as the leader we are seeking to restore the Constitution?

What proof is there whatsoever that Trump even understands the principles of our Constitution? Bueller? Bueller?

As opposed to understanding the hot button words which attract the chumps?

Please tell me what specifically I said to make you make such an embarrassingly idiotic statement? I'm feeling the need to embarrass someone - which only happens, but also happens, when they make the exact wrong accusation. So put up or stfu.

“And there is not a single person out there who can construct a coherent argument why Trump should be trusted.”

Please tell me then, who can be trusted among our Presidential contenders?

Anyway, the American people really can’t hope to find one man to solve all their problems.

“Cruz speaks in complete sentences and coherent paragraphs.”

In the 21st century American idiocracy, it is disadvantageous for a candidate to “talk like a fag”. It is much better to use the vocabulary and grammatical complexity of a nine-year-old, and to call opponents losers and morons.

The movie version had President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, porn star and five-time ultimate smackdown wrestling champion. The 2016 Republican primary has Donald Trump, bombastic billionaire with his series of trophy wives, and shearer of Vince McMahon in the WrestleMania 23 Hair vs. Hair match.

Your overall tone is that we’re all too stupid to see thru trump. We see what he is and that the rnc has utterly failed us

I know it stings some of you guys but Trump really does have some Reaganesque qualities. Of course, they are totally different people from different circumstances and backgrounds. Nobody is claiming that Trump is a "clone" of Reagan but similarities abound in the way that they communicate directly to the people and the way they almost effortlessly handle a media that is blatantly hostile to them and wishes to destroy them.

Which brings me to this point. If Trump is the liberal that you guys keep saying he is, the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing, then why are the media and establishment so hell-bent on destroying him? If Trump was truly in cahoots with the establishment, they would be cheering Trump on.

Another similarity between Reagan and Trump is that they have appeal across traditional party lines. Reagan would not have had the mandate and two landslides that he had had he not brought millions of "Reagan Democrats" to the GOP fold. Unfortunately the GOP squandered the political power that they had by foisting upon us milquetoast presidential nominees ever since.

While all of us would love to have a 100% pure-bred conservative like Ted Cruz in the White House, it's probably not going to happen with the current demographics. The only chance we have with Cruz as our nominee is if the Democrats completely fall apart and nominate somebody like a Bernie Sanders or a scandal-ridden Clinton (which seems much less likely to happen).

Trump has the ability to bring those "Reagan Democrats" back and if Trump can lead effectively, it will bring the nation further to the right and we'll be able to get a Ted Cruz elected in 2020 or 2024 no matter who the Democrats put up.

Well, you just made two stupid points....A: I never said ALL were too stupid to see thru Trump, I said 20% of his followers were reasonable and willing to take the chance regardless of the red flags....and that while I disagree with that, it's a reasonable argument...and B: if you think it's either Trump or the RNC, you're not paying much attention....which hell, may be the case.

Yeah, I really need to get my head right. This^^^ is a pretty good description of some 80% of Trump Freepers.

Or maybe all Trump-FReepers are just a lot smarter than you!
