Is there proof that is true?

That what is true? That I never cared for wine? You’ll just have to take my word for it. About the retinas? That’s what my eye doctor tells me (because I was very nearsighted, thus my eyes are longer than normal, so the retinas curve more sharply and detach more easily), and I’m inclined to take his word for that. Also, one of my brothers was also very nearsighted and ran a lot for years, and has had at least two retinal detachments in the past few years.

I should add that people with normal vision, and therefore normal retinal curvature, aren’t at increased risk of retinal detachment from ordinary activity such as running. I personally have not yet had a detached retina. Apparently they’re easy to repair these days, but I’d still rather not.
