NFL Official: Footballs Known To Have Leaks ‘Right Out Of The Box’

“These are man-made products,” Slaughter said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “There is a bladder and a valve. We have all checked them for many years. Sometimes when you check the ball in the locker room right out of the box, there could be a problem. They could have a slow leak, and you wouldn’t even know it at the time.” That the official footballs are known to have air containment issues that cause deflation of the balls and easily go undetected even to the most trained referees is incredibly valuable information to Brady’s defense. It’s more than reasonable to envision a scenario where the NFL Players Association calls Slaughter to testify and enters him as an expert specifically to repeat that very line.

I might add...is there a text message or email that would have been on Brady’s cell phone that the league permitted him to rid himself of after he informed them of his intent to do so, that would not be on the cell phone of the receiver or sender? I’ll save you the brain power. NO. All texts and email are TWO WAY. putz.

Tell that to my tires. I’ve seen no discernable difference.

Anybody who has reviewed the evidence knows that it's obvious that there were shenanigans going on. To deny that is to deny reality. That's why Goodell imposed a suspension. A fine woiuld do nothing. Some teams and players think they're above the rules.

If the Patriots (and Brady) are innocent, why was one equipment manager (who referred to himself as "The Deflator" in a pure coincidence), along with another equipment manager, indefinitely suspended by Patriots owner Robert Kraft on the day the Wells Report was released?

Why haven't these guys at least been returned to good standing with the team, if they've been treated so unjustly?

There were shenanigans going on, that's why. Doubtless, they were committing these shenanigans at the behest of the backup quarterbacks.

Do you think this "Deflator" was just trying to lose some weight? Gimme a Break.

Goodell has concluded, on the basis of a preponderance of evidence, that there were shenanigans going on, and Brady was involved. So he slapped him with s suspension. Why? Because a fine would be meaningless.

Patriot fanboys can moan and groan all they want, but the Commissioner's power and motivation are clear here.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the suspension ultimately reduced for the crybaby Brady. But it will never be eliminated altogether. So Brady and the Patriots better get that through their thick skulls.

The source is NESN, for those outside the Northeast it stands for New England Sports Network. It is owned by the Boston Red Sox. No bias here I see. Every viewer of this network only dress in Patriot and Red Sox attire, you have seen the type on vacation in Disney World around Easter. Get out the Patriot Pom Poms.

The softer the football, the more convincing a pump fake can be; or the choice to abort can come further in the arm motion. The mechanics of throwing is refined science for guys like Brady. They notice instantly if a ball is not firm enough. Even the DBs figured that out. Refs just lob balls around. They aren’t trying to rifle a 30 yarder between two defenders, so it doesn’t surprise me that they wouldn’t notice the firmness.

After seeing the football slip out of Brady’s hand on that one pumpfake/abort in the last SB, it made me wonder: was the guy used to having a softer ball that he normally has no problem holding on to in a similar motion?

Oh well, small potatoes in world of much, much, greater problems.

We have Hillary, Lois Lerner and most of the Obama Administration doing what the Patriots did by destroying evidence right before the hearing.

If most of the other NFL teams didn't know the Patriots cheat Goddell would not have the balls to suspend Brady.

That was my first thought too. One or two maybe. However, all but one? Statistically extremely unlikely. The part about “we’ve all seen” makes it sound like a once or twice a season thing: that they come across a leaky ball from the factory. That would be what, 1 in 300 or so? So what are the odds of drawing 12 and hitting that 1 in 300 outcome 11 times? Pretty effin remote.

I'm sure not wanting to expose sporting goods manufacturers of defective or leaking footballs is why the honorable QB had his cell phone destroyed! (/sarcasm)

If Brady has to sit out 4 games for destroying his cellphone, how many games must Hillary sit out for destroying her hard drive? Lois Lerner?

You don’t need the phone to retrieve texts. Every carrier stores them for an extended period, up to 7 years in some cases.

Cheaters cheat and liars lie. Deal with it.
