It’s free for one year. Puppy dog sale. One of my employees lost her favorites list and we cannot figure how to get it back.

I heard Microsoft representatives mention they are moving to a servicing model for Windows 10, does that mean Windows 10 is going to require a subscription?
No, Windows 10 remains a perpetual license, which means, you can upgrade to Windows 10 and use it forever without it expiring or going into any reduced functional mode.
Windows 10 is a "free upgrade" to Windows 7 and Windows 8.x users. Vista and XP users will be required to purchase a new license.
The download and install of Windows 10 is free for Windows 7 & 8.x users for 1 year.
Backing up all your data is always advised. If you know how to make an image of your HDD or Clone it, you should consider doing that also. I cloned my Windows 8.1 HDD so if my Win10 upgrade goes awry, I can simply re-install the original HDD with Windows 8.x on it, make another clone and try again.
Yeah, I saw that one. The seller doesn’t explicitly say it comes with a product key. You may assume that it doesn’t.
Why not check the Microsoft website for information on the length of time that it’s free.
I posted what l read, which came from a MS Rep who said it’s free for the length of the license.
Do you work for MS?
I guess I have to wait until November to upgrade; that’s ridiculous. I might be looking for a replacement.
Thanks!
The folks at Sony must have thought Microsoft was never going to meet their release date.
No, but I've answered questions like yours dozens of times in the last few days for family, friends, etc...........
If you doubt what I said, you're free to google "how long can I download Windows 10 for free?" and you'll find the same answer.
I’ve been a Beta Tester for the past year.
I have never asked a question about Win 10.
I do know your have one year to download it, but once it’s installed you have a perpetual license which MS claims will be for 10 years....
BTW, I've been running Windows 10 since the Developer Preview and honestly really do like it. It's fast, consumes less memory and CPU resources to run than either Windows 7 or Windows 8.x and despite having to go through 5/6 different NVIDIA drivers to get my quad desktop monitors to work correctly I think Windows 10 is a winner.

save your bookmarks to disk/usb thumbdrive, then install Win10
My great Win 7 PC burned up this past winter, so I got an HP all-in-one, but with no option other than 8.1; I had the local shop do the Classic Shell thng, but I'm still less than impressed.
Batavia be a bit nervous about the next steps....
Well, there goes any chance I’d be upgrading anytime soon, since Taskbar Masher is a must to get EQ2 to behave properly in windowed mode.
Go for 7, a pirated “legit” install like the OP mentioned. Any machine that runs Vista Home Premium nicely will run 7 like a bat outta hell. All the nice stuff, none of the crap.
You have Win 8.1 and you want to know what to do to get
Win 7?
you really dont have to do nothing the system notifies you
what to do and at some point it will ask you to install it.
Its all self explanatory and if by chance my explanation is not good enough you have a year to figure it out otherwise.
Better than that, when someone comes by the house who knows better than you, ask them to lend you a hand.
