Stillwater Police responded to a burglary call at a GameStop early Tuesday morning.
The call came from the GameStop at the 500 block of N. Perkins Rd. at 1:22 a.m.
Reports say two suspects entered the video game store by cutting a hole in the building’s roof and entering from above. Police say they were able to get away with several pieces of gaming merchandise.
The suspects were still on the scene when officers arrived, but police say they quickly took off in a truck. They then apparently decided to split up.
“The suspect stopped, one of them got out, and ran off on foot,” said Captain Kyle Gibbs, with Stillwater Police. “The other jumped in the driver’s seat and took off.”
The suspect who ran, 19-year-old Markez Thompson, was quickly arrested by officers.
Reports show the second suspect drove away from the store heading westbound on Hall of Fame Ave. Officers then followed him through OSU’s campus, until the suspect lost control of his truck at a curve. The car was sent rolling several times before coming to a stop in someone’s back yard, police say.
An officer’s dash-cam actually caught the truck flipping on video. Soon several officers were on scene, finding a badly injured suspect inside the vehicle.
“Initially he had very serious injuries, described by one of the officers as potentially life threatening,” explained Gibbs.
The suspect was flown to OU Medical for treatment. Police describe his condition as stable.
Markez Thompson was arrested for second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and attempting to elude officers. The second suspect is expected to be arrested for the same crimes.

Coming through the roof is nothing new. I ran a pharmacy in Philly back in the early ‘90’s. Had people come through the roof several times.
