On this night of lunatic lunar wonder, I happened to step outside for another look, just now, and saw a slow bright yellow meteor descending on the ENE horizon, here in the Chicagoland area and environs at 11:04 PM CDT.
Woohoo!
And so now, at 11:55PM CDT, I stepped out once more and saw a plane on approach to O’hare fly right across the disk of the now famously full moon. What are the chances? I’m afraid to go out there another time!
