Ask your HMO as they may have a reciprocal agreement with Canada. When I was in Victoria a few years ago my Kaiser coverage worked there.

Just ensure you don't need a prescription, eye glasses or dental work. None of that is covered.

Canadian single-payer will treat anyone who shows up in their emergency rooms. Will they charge you? who cares?! Its socialism!

If you want to see a specialist, or have chronic problems, you will wait 6-12 months to see someone, but that doesn’t sound like an issue for a short-term traveller. If you break your arm, you can get treated quickly.

We went to Europe and we used Tin Leg, which covers medical and any other Travel costs, if you should have to cancel the trip.

I ended up with an ambulance ride ER visit in Canada it cost me 750 dollars I paid it on my CC.

Than sent the bill to my insurance company and was reimburse.
