You obviously have the delusion that average Americans can be classified as “Republicans” or “Democrats”, when most normal people don’t give two sh*ts about either one.
Many voters who pull the lever for the D are acting out of perceived self-interest. There are ways to pull in a lot of these voters, at least white ones.
Trump has cross-party appeal that none of the others do.

He can’t even muster 40% total approval from Republicans. He is a 60% negative there. Democrats, some, might vote Trump, but to say he has crossover appeal without evidence is bunk.
