Could the Sleeping Giant Be Awakening? David Limbaugh | Jul 24, 2015

The professional hand-wringers are freaking out over Donald Trump's straight talk while displaying abysmal indifference to the deserved targets of Trump's charges. The United States is incinerating, but all they can think about is Trump's heated rhetoric.

Trump is resonating because, as a presidential candidate, he is giving public voice to many of the concerns that have Americans beside themselves. Some commentators have called attention to these issues for years, but it's different when a candidate does it, especially a Republican candidate.

Democratic candidates have no fear of making controversial statements or even of taking extreme positions, because the liberal media agree with them and will avoid putting them in a bad light. But Republicans know that the media will exploit any opportunity to vilify them.

Republicans also feel pressure from the GOP establishment to pull their punches -- not to say anything that would make them look too conservative, too extreme, too uncaring, too out of step with the popular culture. "Don't sound judgmental. Moderate your words. Be respectful toward President Obama. And above all, don't sound like one of those crazies."

Then Donald Trump comes along and breaks all the rules. He is not beholden to anyone for funding, and he's not a string puppet for any feckless political consultants.

What he’s doing...is pushing topics to a corner of the room that none of the candidates wanted to discuss. Either they engage him on the topics and win the debate....or he will put them into the corner with a win in Iowa and some rapid-fire firings for the political strategy crowd within the Republican circles. In the south, some of his comments get respect from Democrats, and that might want to worry some folks within Hillary’s circle.

He walks his own walk and he can't be bought.

It had better awaken! Before it's too late!

The gop-e politican since 1996 is more concerned with nuance and tone. More concerned with looking nice on tv and praising other gop-e and liberal politicians. They want to be a regular on liberal news shows. The always put themselves in a position of playing defense, accepting the premise of whatever liberals accuse them of.

At the same time, Americans are victims of crime and are paying the full price if illegal immigration. They are being taxed and regulated more and more......and no one including the gop-e gives a damn.

That is one reason why I like Trump. If it was not for him, NO ONE would be talking about the crimes that aliens do. I is rubbing the gop-e’s nose in this and people are cheering because gov’t is not listening at all. Trump is not into nuance and tone but instead is turning the tables on the press (which all of us have to do).

Trump is not the typical gop-e(someone who is more concerned with being articulate without saying anything that is decisive). The Karl Rove’s of the gop-e have neutered candidates so that they say nothing because they stand for nothing. Trump is not that.

More probably like getting up to take a pee. While feeling good and being necessary, after it’s finished it’s back to bed for more sleep.

I really do not understand whey people are corrected for posting duplicate threads.

If there are 2 or more that are posted so close in time that they will appear on the Forum page at the same time, it makes sense to kill the duplicate thread.

But I am sure my position is not unique in that I am not constantly logged on to FR, so I may not catch a story unless it is posted again at some later time.

Perhaps I just don’t know enough about how these things work....

If not for Trump there would be no Sanctuary City legislation. I hope they get enough votes in the Senate to make it veto proof.

I agree, many’s the time I’d have missed a thread if I hadn’t happened to see the duplicate one. I’ve never gotten why some make such a big deal about it.

*SIGH*
I truly wasn’t seeking to throw bricks and be a prick! I have heard cries in the past about “conserve bandwidth!!!”

I share experiences with those of you who have mentioned benefitting from seeing a repost.

Mea Culpa.

Now, if I ever post a duplicate, I hope all you people will have mercy on me!

;-D

Agreed. I will definitely have mercy on you, but, of course, I probably won’t even know that the same piece had been posted 5 times already. :)

(BTW, please watch your language; there are ladies present. Thank you.)
