Prosecutor: Bland's autopsy revealed no evidence of homicide

The autopsy of a black woman who was found dead in a Texas jail revealed no injuries that would suggest she was killed by someone else, authorities said Thursday.

Waller County prosecutor Warren Diepraam said the autopsy showed that 28-year-old Sandra Bland had no defensive injuries on her hands that would typically indicate a struggle.

Some lacerations or abrasions were found on her wrists. Those were consistent with a struggle while being handcuffed. The marks around Bland's neck were consistent with a suicide by hanging, Diepraam said.

Bland also had about 30 small cuts on her wrist that were probably self-inflicted within the last few weeks, he added.

She was arrested in a traffic stop three days before she was found in her cell on July 13. Her family and friends dispute the official finding that she killed herself using a noose fashioned from a plastic garbage bag.

Texas Rangers and the FBI are investigating.

Also Thursday, the woman's sister confirmed that Bland had taken prescription medication for seizures in the past.

Booking documents filled out for Bland after her arrest indicate she told staff at the jail that she had epilepsy and was taking medication for it. The forms identify the drug as Keppra.

Other forms, however, say she was not taking medication.

Company information on Keppra, which is sold in regular and extended-release forms, says that "antiepileptic drugs, including Keppra and Keppra XR, may cause suicidal thoughts or actions in a very small number of people, about 1 in 500."

There seems to be a higher lever of mental illness among blacks than whites. OTOH, CNN is wall-to-wall on this non-story, trying to instigate some more racial trouble. They don’t mention Americans murdered by illegal aliens.

Why was she in jail three days after being stopped and arrested? No bail hearing or couldn’t she make bail?

Her family, who are now claiming the she didn’t commit suicide, refused to bail her out of jail.

Apparently they were tired of bailing her out of jail and paying for hospital bills every time she tried to kill herself.

No. It was for assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Well, she was probably charged with assault or at least resisting arrest.

I have the same questions.

There must be something more to this. IIRC, she had some kind of ‘prior’ that may be had some influence.

One of the charges was for assaulting the trooper. In most circumstances, comply with the officer’s instructions, then file a complaint after the fact. If she had done this, she would have gotten off with a warning. Instead, she decided to open her mouth and let stupid fall out.

I wonder how long before they file a nuisance lawsuit?

As I posted earlier... It is because the arrest was on a Friday. See the arrest report for that info: http://s3.amazonaws.com/static.texastribune.org/media/documents/Assault_Public_Servant_redct.PDF

Don’t get yourself arrested on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday... because, if you do, unless you have big connections, you will not be able to get a bail hearing until Monday. This means you will be held until bail can be set. This is something that should have been fixed in our legal system long ago, but it can happen to anyone.

Oh, also, three days without sleep can render the most level-headed person, completely insane with symptoms including hallucinations and extreme paranoia. And being in jail can definitely disrupt normal sleep patterns.

The only time I have ever been inside a jail cell was when I met a police officer to file a theft report. The process of being let in and out made me feel helpless and claustrophobic even though my stay only lasted a few minutes. This was in a pretty decent jurisdiction, and I did not have to encounter anyone who had been arrested. Takeaway: jail is not a very pleasant place.

Some race pimp on Meagan Kelly just screamed for a second Autopsy.
Meagan ripped him to shreds.

Funny, I don’t remember calls for a second Freddie Gray autopsy. Anyone else remember that? {{{crickets}}}

shame,, she had just gone shopping or such for her new place..

doesn’t look like it took much to insult the officer.

but it was enough to end with her death in a jail cell with a large garbage bag shutting her stupidity down for good..

And, as I understand it, the lane change was pulling over because there was a police car behind her with flashing lights. He was signalling her, expecting her to pull over - so he didn’t need her to signal him.

And why did he go after her in the first place?
