According to General Tran Van Quang is the archives in Moscow - 1205 US prisoners were being held. Quang said that many of the prisoners would be held back from Washington after the accords as bargaining chips for war reparations. General Quang’s report added: “This is a big number, Officially until now we published a list of only 368 prisoners of war.

Intersting that there is some questions if this is true . But under the Reagan Administration there was a request from Vietnam for a $4 Billion ransom for the US POW/MIAs still being held in Vietnam.

Up until 1993 there was the possibility of 600 POW/MIAs still in Vietnam. But it was believed many would no longer be alive
