The narrator is trying to be an interesting guy, but he doesn’t have anything interesting to talk about - so he talks about this progressive feminist false-self system he has constructed.

Bets satire is often confused for serious. But...note to the Slate metrosexuals concerned: one tiny surgical procedure will remove all your offending maleness... might as well dudes(?), most of you clearly ain’t using them... so you won’t miss them. Then maybe the urge to grill and accompanying dangerous CO2 will wane?
