On a more serious note, if indeed you are about to be dispensed with they will start doing all sorts of time studies and will require you to write very detailed procedures, this may come through being required to train someone else for your job. Your job will become very procedurally oriented and independent thought which was encouraged before will become a punishable offense. Nothing personal (though it’s hard to see that at the time) just plan your escape and move on :)I don't expect that any time soon. My job is increasingly writing scripts to automate system procedures, and finding solutions to problems that nobody else wants living in their wheelhouse.
