To: Blood of Tyrants
As if military chow wasn’t bad enough.
Lotta' variables to consider ... depends on what service, when you were in, the location, how hungry you were, etc.
I was USMC ('66-'69) and ate meals at Parris Island, Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendelton. Overall, no complaints. (I won't mention "dining" in Vietnam.)
I was also USMC reserve ('82-'85) and ate at Lejeune, Fort Stewart and Fort Pickett. Again, no real complaints.

From my time in the Navy, I remember chow hall food being filling and nutritious, but not especially appetizing.
