Chickens are not the most friendly of pets. I had them when I was a kid. With one exception, the highest level of friendliness occurred when I fed them out of my hand... otherwise, they would pretty much keep their distance. The one exception followed me everywhere and was a true pet.

I have some new juvenile chicks that appear to be “friendly”, but I’m concerned it’s more “aggressive” than friendly.
Seriously, guys, peck the food, not the hand!

I work with a guy who raised chickens and sold eggs. We were discussing it once on break. One of the girls said, "I don't think I could kill and eat them after raising them."
He said, "I didn't think so either but after you have them for awhile you really want to wring their necks."

There's always one that can be trained a little bit. I had one trained once
and it was a hoot. She would follow me anywhere and just chatter away
at me while foraging. I used Cheetos as treats to get her that way, it was fun.

Had a Hen once that was a great pet, as soon as I came out of the house she would immediately fly to my shoulder and start clucking, she couldn’t stay with the other chickens they would attack her, she roosted alone in a tree just outside the back door and followed me everywhere.
Also had a Duck that thought it was a Dog, loved to wrestle/ tug of war and would come when called just to fight and get petted. He was really affectionate (more cat-like in that respect) just wanted to sit in your lap and be stroked.
