According to what I have read, Trump brought him up first, appropriately. The El-Mass-Murderer feels invincible because he has his own government backing him. In Mexico, he very well may be invincible. Drugs are that countries biggest export.

Whatever you think of Trump, he has brought the illegal immigration and border issues to the fore. If he continues, the politicos will have to respond and likely act in some meaningful way. That would hurt the drug business.

In 2001 when he was arrested the people came out in the streets by the hundreds demanding that he be released. It is a different culture in Mexico, and, like Trump said, they are bringing their culture to the USA.
