Amanda Peterson, who starred opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1980s rom-com Can't Buy Me Love, has died at age 43, TMZ reports, citing her father. According to the site, Peterson was discovered at home in Greeley, Colo., on Sunday, July 5, after her family grew concerned that they hadn't heard from her in a couple of days. An official cause of death has not yet been determined.

That was actually a decent movie, focusing on teenage cruelty towards their less popular brethren. I saw it many years ago and she played the part well.
She was terrific in it. Better than that sort of thing usually deserves.
I remember it, too. It was cute and well done.

Grew up in 80’s and loved this movie! I’ll still stop and watch when on cable.
Read something years ago that she got into drugs & the pictures of her weren’t very flattering...rumors so who knows. Sad if she did, was a talented girl.

I like some of the high school setting movies. This was a good one. I also like “Ten Things I Hate About You”.
She was a cutie in the “Can’t Buy Me Love” movie, and I’m very sorry to hear this.

I remember her from the 80’s Sci-Fi movie “Explorers” - it was one of my daughters favorite films.

It also featured a young Seth Green as Dempsey’s younger brother, who constantly tries to sabotage him.
