Thanks for the explanation.

I didn’t know what a “producer” was until a few years ago.

I now understand something about the problems, and benefits, of contracts, management, producers, etc.

While Martin produced several memorable Beatles’ albums, Phil Specter produced “The Concert for Bangla Desh” with some of my favorite people; Harrison, Ringo, Dylan, Clapton, Leon Russell, etc.

Phil Specter was both a crazy mofo and a musical leader, perhaps genius? Like Brian Wilson but Wilson didn’t kill anybody.

Except now, everybody’s going to be on Yoko’s side for once ...

Bottom line, the sum was greater than the parts. Like them or not, The Beatles were the most influential band in modern times.

"Layla" was about Clapton stealing George's wife, Patti Boyd, a dancer on "AHDN" movie. A bit odd that George asked Clapton to play lead on "While My Guitar gently Weeps"

John Lennon could’ve had any chick in the world- he had to have lost a bet which is why he ended up with Yoko...

As a young man, we called it "jumping on a grenade..." or "being the wingman..."

“The Beatles albums we know today on vinyl and CD aren’t the ones that were available in the 60s, 70s, or 80s.”

How so?

For a start the original 60’s Beatles songs were mono not stereo.

IIRC the stereo versions were created later by audio trickery...:^)

Not a McCartney fan, but “Coming Up” is a great song.

with “Pepper” that Paul’s bass was finally potted up in the mixes and his melodic, tuneful bass lines

Agreed. His bass playing is one of the best things about Sgt. Peppers.

Bob Dylan was asked why didn’t he write another 'Tambourine Man' and he goes, “Because I’m not that guy any more.”

More like, because he can't.

His mid Sixties lyrics are amazing poetry.

Here they go again. Someone call Ringo.

In the 50 year special I personally thought Ringo was a far better showman, and he has a good nose job, LOL

I fully agree on all counts. Never was a big Beatles fan but one cannot deny the huge impact they had on music.
