I live in a rust-belt town. Most of my neighbors are the grandchildren of eastern European immigrants. Many are, like me, the children of World War 2 veterans. The majority I'd classify as JFK democrats, old-school conservative democrats.
From my front yard I can see one other American flag out today besides mine. One other flag, out of perhaps 25 houses.
Happy Fourth of July Everyone!
Took my flag down in early November 2012 before Hurricane Sandy could arrive and tear it apart - had a nice new one I was going to put up after the election when Obama was beaten and we had a chance to get back on the right track - somehow just haven’t gotten around to putting it up since then.....
I live in an apartment complex. I have buntings up, an Uncle Sam windsock, and a few small flags. The complex had wonderful fireworks. I sat in a Cracker Barrel rocker on my patio or on my couch to watch. A great holiday.
Fly over country reporting in.
*Main street lined with flags.
*Public and VA cemeteries decked out with flags.
*Good fireworks atfter the go-cart races last night, and the rest of the town is still going strong.
*Every few blocks or so little tail gate or driveway parties and stockpiles of dangerous explosives everywhere.
I live in a gated over-55 community in Palm Beach County. I fly the colors every day except when Mme. AX runs up one of her seasonal flags. Perhaps 10% of our section of the community regularly flies the flag.
4 out of 7 on my block. Great big flag out by the interstate flying over the static F-14.
