I live in a rust-belt town. Most of my neighbors are the grandchildren of eastern European immigrants. Many are, like me, the children of World War 2 veterans. The majority I'd classify as JFK democrats, old-school conservative democrats.
From my front yard I can see one other American flag out today besides mine. One other flag, out of perhaps 25 houses.
It never used to be this way.
Throughout the year American flags fly in my community, south of Boston.
An observation my wife makes is if the house is flying an American flag, a teacher doesn't live there. - Tom
Wow...that is sad.
I live in low-rent housing that is mostly Black and Hispanic, and I have sighted more flags (about 4 besides MINE).
Well, down here in Texas about every house on my street has at lease 1 flag. Several have many.
And I will be pulling out the mortar tonight.
My Gadsden flag is flying. I don't see a single flag besides mine. Not a lot of overt patriotism this year. Many 0dunga imports don't even know what day this is. Otherwise, I think people are in mourning.
Five I can see from the front walk. Oh and one Lone Star - of course.
There are no flags in our conservative town. When a wheat farmer must get permission to plant his land from a USDA government hack in Washington DC, and Christian businessmen must provide services to sexual perverts or face financial ruin, independence is nothing but a fragment of our forgotten history. We grieve for freedom lost for our children and grandchildren and should be wearing black today.
I would say there are less flags and celebrations.
I don’t fly the Stars and Stripes after the Obergefell decision and the spectacle of the Gay White House. I am flying the Appeal to Heaven flag right now.
The Gay White House was a middle finger to God.
There are about 9 US flags and about half that in Lone Star flags outside the computer window. There may be more but can’t see for the trees. Flags are always flying here.
Me and a guy down the road fly 24/7. Noticed two others on the block today.
My lighted flag on a pole flies 24/7. At least one neighbortending bc my husband is recovering from “minor” surgery which had brutal complictions yesterday. has followed suit. In addition, I have a flag on my mailbox down at the road.
As I write, there are several huge 4th parades on-going with lots of flags flying. We’re not participating because my husband is recovering from “minor” surgery which turned brutal yesterday.
Interesting that you should mention that, because buying a Gadsden flag is on my to-do list. And it just might become my flag of choice.
.....and I live in a Florida area saturated with retirees including vast numbers of veterans from WW2 (the aforementioned next-door neighbor) and including all the wars afterwards.
Go figure!

don’t worry, I another year or two there will be plenty of flags flying- rainbow flags that is-
The reason you don’t see many American flags flying is because the left, Schools and colleges, and Hollywood & the media/msm have succeeded in causing young people to despise this country and apologize for it at every turn- Secretly I’m sure some of your neighbors might despise you for displaying a symbol they’ve come to loathe-
Sadly that is the state of affairs I nthis country these days
Many flags spotted in my bay area community of Campbell.
I don’t have any neighbors, but my flag is up 24/7/365.
The Main Street of my little Cow Town is lined with American Flags.
HOWEVER - I spent the morning cleaning out the garage of a home we’re selling in a ‘recovering’ neighborhood in, ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan.’
Had a lot of nice chats with the Korean, Vietnamese, Hmung and Black neighbors about what’s going on with our house. They grilled me while I was cleaning. (Closing August 6th - fingers crossed!) They are SO anxious to welcome a new family into the neighborhood.
A few American Flags up and down the block, but no foreign flags. These neighbors take good care of their homes and seem to have embraced middle-class American life and values.
So, not all hope is lost! :)
Grrrr

I counted 5 in my new neighborhood. Two of them were on the back of our next-door neighbor’s truck.
