What is so hard about building a border fence? It's just like building a highway. BUILD ONE.

Ok I was just thinking about our southern border.

We actually have two borders, but one is high priority, and the only person speaking up is Donald Trump, and Ted Cruz is also somewhat.

What in the world is so difficult about building a border fence?

It's not that complex. We have freeways which are far, far more complex, from coast to coast, in the north, in the center of the country, and in the south.

We have roads all over America, in every town, in every county, in all 50 states. All over the place.

We cannot build a fence, from Texas to California?

Norm, my man...I'm not opposed to any fence-building.

A fence is linear construction. It simply cannot be built upon rocky cliffs and river banks. Better money and resources could be spent on manned posts and drones rather than a fence.

The border that is true land...yes a fence should be built.

How are you going to go to the moon or build Hoover dam or the Golden gate bridge?

Quit raising strawman arguments.

This is a Joke right?? You cannot be serious about this proposal.

We can NEVER close the border, we never will, we will never build any kind of fence, it simply is not possible, no matter how much you think we can do it, we can’t!!

Over 85% of ALL Controlled Substances not available by prescription comes straight across our southern border into America. 3 out of 4 PUBLIC Servants are directly employed as a result of this War on Some Drugs. There are countless Millions employed in ancillary businesses as a direct result of the War on Some Drugs. The Government currently extracts some $50 Billion Dollars annually from we serf’s to wage this war.

What would happen to all these drug warriors?? Who will FIRE ALL OF THEM?? What will they do for work?? Who would ever Hire Them?? All they know is Gestapo Tactics, Totalitarianism, and Propaganda related to the War on Some Drugs. Do you think for some strange reason they will just give us that money back??

Your crazy idea of building a fence would decimate our Government to one of serving the people instead of controlling the people. NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, Dream On, but I did get a good laugh at your idea, thank you.

Its not that hard to build. The only problem for this Marxist administration is that it would work.

Nothing strawman. A cliff is a lot easier engineering obstacle than a moon shot.

It is PATHETIC to sit and argue we cant build over/through/under and around mountains/rivers/swamps etc when we do it on private land and yes public land daily.

Don’t insult our intelligence.

We build highways because we actually want to get from point A to point B.

How does the Uniparty satisfy the SEIU, US Chamber of Commerce and liberals/`moderate Republicans’: people who don’t make their own beds and mow their own yards, with cheap, easily cowed Mexican supplicants if an effective wall/fence is actually preventing the new pool boys, maids, landscaping and concrete and other slaves, speaking jibber-jabber, breaking other local and state laws, using ERs free and taking advantage of other social services intended for Americans, and living twelve to a two BR apartment or trailer ... highways allow illegals to make it as far as Fargo, Bangor or Seattle, but a good fence prevents them from coming here in violation of our laws and taking Americans’ jobs from them.

Go Trump!

Maybe we could put posts in every three feet along the border and chain people to them if they hire illegals. After the first dozen or so illegals would have no reason to come.

What is so hard about building a border fence?

First you must want to keep someone / something in or out.

Second you must have the will to build the fence.

See, the congress critters in DC failed both points. That is why it is hard to build the border fence.

If we did not give the illegals “Benefits” or let them work in the USA, we would not need a fence.

If the little lady “Mexican” gave birth here in the USA, we should present her with a Mexican birth certificate and say have a good day after you pay for all your medical costs.

Most everyone has seen the sound abatement walls that exist along the highways in metropolitan areas across the country. These walls are nothing more than steel beams driven in the ground with precast concrete panels slide down between the beams. Miles of these beams and precast panels could be put up by the Corps of Engineers in a relatively short time.

Hell it’s the perfect job for robotic 3D printing. There’s a thousand ways to do it with the thech we have.

And something as basic as a prefab abatement wall is childs play to do. Naysayers have no rational excuse. They just want illegals.

Hi Norm,

I’m with you - I never underestimate the creativity and ability of American will power. Personally I tend to be an idea guy. I have ideas like, let’s move all the water from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Then I stand back and watch the experts carry out the plans. I don’t tell them how to do their jobs - I stand out of the way and marvel at their ingenuity. The construction of a barrier on rugged terrain is just a civil engineering issue. Complex? Yes, but doable.

For those that resist building it they should offer a viable alternative. It’s almost like hey don’t want border security, so they attack any change as it being impossible.

Happy Independence Day, my FRiend.

And to you as well!

I don’t know. I refuse to believe these people really think we can’t. They just don’t want it. Now they don’t need to provide a solution IMO. They need to provide an eplaination why they shouldn’t be forced to attend the funerals and bedsides of every American killed beaten or raped by the illegals their resistance and excuses as to why we ‘can’t’ build a fence protects.

Rep King says that since he is from the construction background, he decided to figure out what it would cost to protect the border with a fence, a concrete wall, and a road. For 2 million per mile, he says he could make it happen and it would still be cheaper than the 6 million per mile we are spending right now in enforcement.

Steve King and Trump know construction costs. No one else in the field knows as much.

What about Texas? Where you planning on putting the fence there?

Sorry, but NO illegal alien “deserves” U.S. citizenship. If he/she follows the PROPER and ESTABLISHED procedure with INS, great. Heroics and shortcuts around the system won’t get it.

No. It is not as easy as building a highway and nothing like it. Now I am all for an improved fence, but there are so many ways in that throwing up a fence that will cost billions is not always the best use of resources.

What we DO need are improved patrols, more men, more electronics. I find the wall, while important, is no more than some politician to build is conservative bona fides and what has it gotten us? Nothing.Absolutely nothing. And it is a project that would take years if not decades.

I am not against a fence per se, but it is not anything close to an answer and there are better ways .... MUCH better ways, to solve this monumental problem.
