Smiling, polite, staff who speak English are also a nice touch!
We totally quit going to Sonic because English is obviously not the first language of their employees who take orders and got tired of not being able to understand what they were saying. Went to CFA between rain storms last Thursday evening. Two lines at CFA were at least three blocks long but moved very quickly. Sonic, who is right next door, and KFC, who is across the street, had no one in their parking lots or in line.
The error rate on my orders at local McD’s and Wendy’s is greater than 50%. I’ve never seen a mistake in my order it Chick Fil A. They have more people at the window, friendlier, and more accurate.
There are a lot of Hispanics at the drive thrus in my area. In my experience, they are no harder to understand and are friendlier and care more than the worst sub-group of fast food workers: the spoiled children of the middle-class. The 16 year old girl in tight jeans, who can’t sound out her consonants, and is offended that you might expect your order to be accurate - this is the source of drive-through evil in America. I welcome the Mexicans who will take away the jobs of the Tiffany’s and Shanequa’s of the world.
