Would Oprah ever, in your wildest dreams run as a republican? Yes or No?

Is Trump running as a republican? Yes or No?

On the issue of Trump donating to democrat politicians,
please do some research and tell me which businessman in USA, doing equal or more Billions of dollars as Trump, has donated LESS than Trump. I will await your response.

Anyone who knows anything about very large privately owned businesses, knows they should donate to ALL local politicians in state, so that they will not be a target of the political class.

If you add up all the donations Trump made to democrats, it is less than a million dollars. That is about 1/9000 = 0.01% of Trump’s net worth. I will posit, Trump has been very stingy in donating to democrats. Which means Trump bought off the democrat politicians on the cheap, to protect his business interests becoming a target for higher taxes and more regulations.

There are 10 times more articles posted on FR so far in praise of Ted Cruise. What is wrong with fair and balanced? By the way in my opinion Cruz is also a good candidate in 2016.

I was only replying to the lady who said she understood I didn’t like Trump, why not move on. It’s kinda my right to oppose Trump just like it’s the right of others to support him, that’s all. I can’t understand why you can’t see his being the nominee as the disaster it would be only to be topped by the disaster it would be if he was actually elected. Obama was bad enough but then Donald Trump???

Actually every professional politician elected as president so far, since I arrived as a teenager in this great country in the 60’s has been a disaster. Reagan was the least disaster, but even under his watch national debt jumped, and federal spending jumped.

May be time has come to try a non-professional-politician businessman who has succeeded in increasing his net worth FORTY FIVE times based on what he started out with. ($200 million to $9 Billion). At least he knows how to become prosperous. The professional politicians do not care about middle class. They are in pockets of their sugar daddy rich donors. If sugar daddy wants Obamatrade passed, they will obediently acquiesce.

Ask not if Oprah would run as a Republican, but what are the values and judgment of a "Republican" candidate who would seriously both praise Oprah so highly and pose her as desirable GOP VP? (Reread my prior response if you can't see what's wrong with Oprah!)

Ask not what percentage of his total worth did Trump donate to the Democrats, but what percentage of his political contributions went to Democrats as opposed to Republicans? It is this comparison that would reveal the direction of his past political commitment - whatever the level of this commitment may have been.

From the dailycaller.com - June 2015 (LINK):

"Between 1989 and 2010, The Donald gave $314,300 to Democratic groups and candidates and $290,600 to Republicans, according to a Daily Caller analysis of records maintained by the Center for Responsive Politics."
That's a 52 to 48 ratio in favor of the Democrats. And no... more recent contributions would not be a better measure of the direction of Trumps political commitment because those may reflect only Trump's recent differences with Obama - and Trump repositioning to do a Michael Bloomberg by running for office as a Republican.

To all FReepers: Agree and defend Trump's recent stands & statements on Immigration, Trade and the Middle East (as I have and will) but don't trust him for a New York minute with or a heartbeat away from the presidency!

Trump is solid on jobs, and on the border.

Completely so. He stands up for what he believes in, and almost nobody else does.

He would be a fine president.

Dr-Pix, size matters! $314,300 given to democrats is 0.0035% of Trumps net worth of $9 Billion. If his real net worth is only 1/10th of what Trump says, it is still only 0.035% over many decades.

I would posit, Trump has been extremely stingy in his bribe money given to the politicians to prevent his business interests made a target. Trump screwed the politicians, excuse my French.

Are you trying sarcasm or is it unintentional?

If your defense is "$314,300 given to democrats is 0.0035% of Trumps net worth of $9 Billion." and is "extremely stingy"...

...then clearly giving $290,600 to Republicans (mostly RINOS) is 0.0032% of his worth and makes him more than "extremely stingy" with Republican!

Trump giving more to Democrats than Republicans reveals past political commitment and values that should certainly make him totally unacceptable to any voter with TRUE conservative commitment and values.

End of Discussion!

That is the problem with posters like you. You make mountains out of mole hills.

Have you ever thought that the states in which Trump has operated in the past were mostly liberal, democrat dominated states such as New York? I am surprised Trump bothered to donate anything to republicans. In most cases, he did not have to. So he must really like those republicans he donated to!
