I meant in general, apologies. Not on this particular thread. I think Americans are too quick to ignore their own problems and sneer at the Limeys and Yooros. But then perhaps all countries do that.

I DO get annoyed at the constant criticism of the UK on FR, esp when I look back across the great pond and see that America has many more problems than the UK to be frank.

What happened then?

Thank you for your post. I knew there was a reason my forefathers joined the Reformation, lol.

I think most of the bible is a warning about the Catholic church. A lot of God's people are fooled by the Catholic Church.

Mate,

The UK government did just that.

Before the bodies were even cold, Cameron said this:

“The people who do these things, they sometimes claim they do it in the name of Islam. They don’t. Islam is a religion of peace,” he said.”

Tunisia has been plauged by terror at least since 2012, and has a large minority of almost 15 percent of the population which is supportive of Isis and is also the country that has sent most foreign fighters to join Isis.

Yes, even more than the UK.

Even after its “succesful” arab spring it promtly elected an islamist government democratically.

I forgot to include the link. I was better known here before so people knew I did not make things up.

Here it is from ITV. One of the major serious TV networks in the UK:

http://www.itv.com/news/update/2015-06-26/cameron-we-must-stop-the-poisoning-of-young-minds/

I was incensed reading our Scottish “Braveheart he aint” friend’s post on this thread.

My heart goes out to the victims, but in my opinion people like Cameron and others who are and have been underplaying the threat in Northern Africa have some blod on their hands.

Awful all around, and few signs of any politican in the West
being honest about what is happening. Funnily, enough you see more honesty from the middle east.

King Abdullah of Jordan regarding the attack:

“this could well be the beginning of World War Three”

BTW, see my thread I posted about Arab attitudes to ISIS if you are interested in more detail.

Take care FRiend.

If you have a problem with me, don’t go calling me snide names to someone else. Man up and say it to my face.

Firstly, this happened on a busy, normal UK street, people out shopping or having a coffee in the local cafes. Just to set the scene.

Secondly, men DID try to stop the killing and attack the two, but as they were armed with a gun and a machete/knives, those that did were attacked and driven back. So the idea that everyone stood around is not true.

But in the US, its now become fact that the Brits did nothing, the police took 30m. Neither remotely true.

Look, I know y’all would have done shot the men doggone it, but as most British don’t own guns and those of us who do don’t carry, what were the people there (a collection of housewives, older people and a few young uns) supposed to do really?.

Everyone can have John Wayne/Dirty Harry fantasies after the fact.

The post was just the usual rubbish about dhimmi Britain. I read it here weekly. It wasn’t even particular to this dreadful event, just the usual snide remark.

As to his comment, well, politicians are damned if they criticise, damned if they don’t. I expect it so often, I don’t get annoyed anymore.

I said that for foreign tourists and visitors it was safe until March. I am well aware of the recent history of the country and its relationship to the Arab Spring. I never said it was perfect, I simply said it was one of the safer countries in the ME/N Africa for westerners. Which by and large it has been. Until 2015.

Incensed?.

Please tell where I have justified this evil?. Or ever downplayed Islamic terrorism?. Anyone who reads me knows I, like most here, are for all-out war on ISIS. I on these pages have been calling for Britain and America and others to put boots on the ground, that SF/air ops are not enough.

I have been shouting on FR for every last bit of support for anti-ISIS forces and any forces fighting any form of Islamic terrorism. I stood up here for the French in Mali, when amazingly some were cracking the usual French jokes.

BTW, this cowardly Scot spent seven years in the Paras defending internet warriors like you. You’re welcome.

As PC as the UK govt has to be at times, at least we are making some genuine effort to combat Islamic terrorism and extremism. At least we are trying.

Arabs and Muslims in vote for same type of people shock.

They weren’t going to vote for ginger Scots, Nigel Farage and Red Ed, were they?. I would rather have ME/NA govts with as little Muslim content as possible, but if the Muslim content is genuinely moderate, then OK. To a point.

Thank you for the information.

My comment wasn't meant to be a slap at the British People but rather the control that PC has now on Government policies, both the British and U.S.

I have no doubt that the Obama administration would have said the exact same thing.

My deepest condolences are to the British People for their loss of their citizens in this vicious attack.

Yeah, that's the whole problem. The British people don't demand gun rights like we do.

You're a Scot I assume. I think the powers that be set out to destroy the individualism and fighting spirit of the Brits and Scots in WW1. They made the Scots, who were the force of the British armies, stand up and walk into German gunfire. I believe that was a planned genocide. Can I prove it? No. But the British haven't been the same since the millions of the good UKer's were wiped out.

Correct, probably because gun ownership has always been low in the UK. More apathy than anything.

Yes, I am. And a historian/military historian. Sorry, but that’s rubbish. Firstly, the myth that the British High Command in WW1 were butchers and bunglers is just that, a myth, beloved by film and TV, but wrong. Thankfully a younger generation o historians since the 90s is shattering that myth. Secondly, yes, the British made mistakes, yes we suffered horrible casualties, but then so did everyone. It was simply the new ability to kill in great numbers.
