I've Been A Bit Quiet Lately

I haven't been commenting much lately because my mind is simply on overload right now. I'll bet yours is, too.

About all I can say is that, now isn’t the time for me to ramble, but to digest, contemplate, plan, and prepare.

I’ve spent years at this forum spilling my guts and taxing my synapses. The exchange of viewpoints with others, and even the verbal fisticuffs, has been rewarding in many ways for me.

But recently something’s taken hold of me that’s hard to explain. I guess I’ve quieted down due to the storm clouds I see gathering on the horizon. The low rumble of thunder is just barely heard, but I feel it in my bones. I’ve stepped back from the roundtable, and am now intently gazing at what approaches from the far distance. I can’t take my eyes off it. It’s distracted me from the hearty and boisterous conversation around me.

I’m obviously not the only one who notices, but unlike most, I’m having a hard time talking about it. My survival instincts are kicking in, and all I can seem to think about is doing what I must, to protect my family and myself.

Well, enough with the poetry. I know you get my drift.

I still harbor a great deal of hope that we can propel a conservative champion into the White House in 2016, and help to end our collective nightmare. I've become convinced that Ted Cruz is the one person who has the capacity to unite the good and decent people of this country, and that he's a man who has the requisite courage and backbone to do what must be done to rein in our tyrannical government. I am backing him 100%, and will do everything in my humble ability to see that he becomes our nominee.

For one, Ted is the very first candidate I’ve ever sent money to. Considering the fact that I’ve been voting since 1972, that’s saying something. The way I see it, this is our very last chance to steer the ship of state away from the rocks before she finally crashes, and I have got to do what I can, to avoid what will surely follow, should we fail. I do not want to look my teenaged children in the eyes in a few short years, and say, “I’m sorry kids. You shouldn’t have to risk your lives to save your country, but my generation was just too weak to keep things from coming to this.”

Although it’s incumbent upon me to stay up to date on the tragic unraveling of America, I’m doing my best to not become completely overwhelmed by the course of events. I’ve got a business to run and a family to provide for. That comes first, above all else. That, I will do, but more and more, I look to the Founders for guidance in these bleak and horrible times. Their personal stories, and the examples of heroism they provided, give me hope and strength to carry on in the face of a tyranny they would recognize at once.

In the past, I’ve prayed that our generation would not be called upon to earn our freedom as our forefathers of the 18th century did, but more and more, it appears that that hope is vain. Every day, a new page of history is printed, which in retrospect, will prove that our darkest fears were right on the mark, and that we were right to posit that this generation would either fail, or would pass the greatest test a people can face. I think we can agree that such thoughts are becoming more crystal clear by the day.

I was just telling my wife today, that I wish we could just pick up and move to our rural dream home. Right now.

If only it were possible. I need that solitude and sense of safety. Alas, it’s not to be — at least not for several more years — that is, if things in this country can even hold together.

One saving grace is that I’m in the great state of Texas. As I’ve often told my wife, if things in America go completely sideways, we’ll be safe here, because if (God forbid) the S does HTF, things will straighten up in Texas overnight, as the good men of this state WILL stand tall, and they WILL do their ancestors proud. My certainty about that outcome is just as strong as my gut certainty about the horrific trajectory of current events in this country.

I think every thinking patriot on FR is on the same page with this. It would be a wonderful thing if the ‘other side’ would simply let us be, but they won’t. They’re going to continue pushing until something breaks. It’s just how they roll.

In my heart, I honestly feel pity for them, because when they finally light the match on that prairie fire, no power on God’s green earth will be able to put it out.

Having lived in one of the better third world countries as an Army officer for several years my advice is to study any move carefully. Remember how much of your budget will be consumed by “mordida”. If that doesn’t sober you up, ponder this, how recent are the laws and conditions you find attractive? What were the laws and attitudes toward gringos 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago? I believe you will decide joining us at the barricades is your best option. See you there.

There’s an old gold mining ghost town in southern New Mexico. Oak something or other. Quite a few folks could gather in a place like that before anyone noticed.

Just do yer best to take a few with you. Had Europes Jews figured that out earlier we might have been spared quite a bit of Nazi inflicted pain and suffering.

Amen brother. Great Post.

I’m nearly 60 and have long feared this day. I just told my wife that voting doesn’t matter anymore. I would vote for Ted Cruz if he were the nominee but I fear he will be “Palinized” if he gets any traction in the primaries. The media is too powerful. Most of this country is either under the spell spell of satan or don’t give a damn.

I grew up in North Dakota. My parents, in their upper 80’s, still live on the farm I grew up on. I currently live and work in a small city in rural Minnesota. Not a bad life but this state is a liberal feceshole that loves to lead the nation in many new stupid liberal ideas. I detest liberal Minnesota, but many of the people I live around are good moral people. I do see the day not far way when my parents are gone that moving back to the farmhouse in North Dakota in retirement would be a great way to escape the madness we call life in America. North Dakota people have many of the same great characteristics of Texas.

I do fear a civil war is coming but also fear is nobody will show up for the war. Nobody seems to give a damn that our great country is being dismantled piece by piece, day by day. Except of course the sick liberal scumbags who are reveling in the excitement of oppressing Christianity and erasing traditional American values. Satan rules this country now and it will continue to get worse, much worse. I know some day God will deliver his just punishment to those who created and participated in this sin infested world. We have to continue to pray and maintain our faith in God. The bible has predicted these things would happen. We should not be surprised. I’m surprised at how fast it has happened. Never expected I would be living in the end times.

Thanks again for the post, Windflier. You have read my mind.

That is my intentions now. How it will play out when it plays out remains to be seen. And, it will be played out, if not in my lifetime, then later. I fully intend to make them earn their money when they come after me.

I ain’t going. Put in too much work here. The beauty of my survival situation is it can’t be just carried away. Anyone takes it away from me will soon discover you gotta work like a dog to make it all go. Skills is what it is all about. Others may be jealous of what you got but if what you got vaporizes when you do there’s nothing to be gained by taking you on. I have spent years working out how to maximize food production on a couple hundred square feet, how to maintain water supply, heat, etc. when there’s none to be had. Anyone sends me to my maker for what I got will probably pay pretty dearly to do so and having sent me to my Lord will find he got bumpkiss for his blood and effort.

But it so ‘t be just your own countrymen. It will also be a sizeable amount of 3rd worlders who see you as the problem with the world. I see it and feel it now whenever I venture into a place outside of my normal habitat.

The problem with the “Big Plan” of the libtards that they are too stupid to see is this: none of their usefu idiot foot soldiers have any of the skills survival is gonna require in the chaos they hope for. Now I never wiz a general but if I served under one whose brilliant plan required reshaping the battlefield through events his army couldn’t survive I do believe I would strongly be considering quietly sliding outa camp, between days, as Mark Twain would say...

There is no point in going toe to toe with me unless you want to dance.
If your intent is to plunge the knife in we both die, whats the point other than I draw a line.

Someone upthread said it “Just leave me alone”

I am in California also, I work in a very large grocery chain in management. I have started to become very out spoken with my views and have engaged MANY of our customers in conversation, I have been absolutely AMAZED at how many of them feel the same way!!!!! Do not despair MANY, MANY people in CA. are FED UP!!!!!! you would NEVER know this from the press and how our state government has turned liberal
but I think the immigration situation here is FINALLY starting to awaken the masses!!!!! Companies are fleeing this state, water situation is critical and governor moonbeam is focused on bullet train believe me MANY, MANY folks here are mad as hell I still have hope, as depressed as I am over this last week, you can only push people so far and they WILL push back, even in the great LIBERAL state of California!!!!!!

Anybody else been having weird dreams? The other night I dreamnt of huge eddies and tsunamis all around me. Having my
gall bladder taken out in a couple days so the physical nausea combined with the SCOTUS nausea is about more than I
can take. Please Lord, we need relief from the evil that is
now quantum-leaping all around us...
