K9 vehicles are supposed to be left running at all times with the A/C on to keep the dog cool.
Just curious as to why the officer/handler didn’t take him into the building for the meeting.

Again, some details are left out. We don’t know for sure if he LEFT THE CAR RUNNING, or not. It does not state. Also does not state how long this “meeting” was to be. Doesn’t even state when he left the car - only that he and his colleague were bitten just before 7am.
Yes but in Pascagoula an officer did this and went in the police precinct for hours, assuming his car was still running. It wasn’t. But the DA and Police Chief said it was “an unfortunate accident.” I don’t believe he was even reprimanded.
