I remember one movie where some General said whoever hold the farmhouse wins the battle. I also remember a scene where a British cavalry officer says “I believe my leg has been blown off by a cannon ball” and another British officer says “I believe you are right”. It’s been a long time so I would appreciate it if you might know which movie that was
“Ive always thought it was the Prussian reinforcements that saved the day at Waterloo. And if I recall correctly, the Prussian commander at first declined to support the British, but later changed his mind and came to their rescue at the eleventh hour.”
All the accounts that I’ve read say that as well.
WATERLOO 1970.
"By God, sir, I've lost my leg!", to which Wellington replied "By God, sir, so you have!"
Thanks!
