2. This was Forty years ago or more. Not only was it not of great importance at the time, many of the people it was important in any way to have grown old any dissemination died. Their little tempest in a teapot needs to die too.
3. In that era many of the players bet off the record. Back through the sixties the majority probably did. Big whoop. They generally bet on themselves and their friends to win.
4. Grow up. This level of acrimony over people paid huge sums to play children's games speaks of an enduring childishness that really grates on working people who adopted adult interests.
I agree completely. Those folks who still want to see Pete Rose in the Baseball HOF should grow up! /sarc
