I am not completely satisfied with the current position of any of the candidates on illegal immigration. I don't think any of them are tough enough.

It would seem that the prudent thing to do would be a quick and decisive securing of the border, followed by deportation of anyone her illegally who is on on public assistance. Of course, we deport anyone found to be breaking additional laws, but why continue to support illegal leeches?

We need to broaden and strictly enforce e verify, as well.

I know that Freepers have valuable input on this issue. It is my hope that by expressing it here, we might be able to send a message to those contending for the Presidency.

With 600 million people south of our porous non-existent southern border and untold millions outside the Americas who might also avail themselves of easy access, there can be only one immigration policy - take away the incentives to cheat the system and enter illegally. Stop giving prizes for illegal entry.

Any measure that permits those who entered illegally to benefit from that illegal act is amnesty.

This must be stopped.

I wish a credible conservative candidate were available who would turn off the illegal immigration spigot, send illegals home, and advocate a moratorium on legal immigration until we can sort out who is already here and deal with those here. Triple layer border fence and a strong e-verify program with teeth for not complying. No benefits whatsoever for non-citizens. Not one federal dollar for cities or states that declare themselves “sanctuaries.”

After that, we could craft an immigration policy for legal immigrants who are actually needed here, rather than just allow in whoever wants to come. No more sactuary immigrants, lottery immigrants, diversity immigrants, daisy chain family unification immigrants, or student visas for people from countries that produce significant numbers of terrorists.

The Chamber of Corruption won’t like it; they would have to get used to employing Americans rather than import third worlders.

But a candidate like that could not only energize the Republican base but also appeal to Dim blue collar workers.

Agreed. And, it needs to be followed by ALL of those who broke into our country illegally. ALL of them and their children. Remove the idea of "Anchor Babies", send all back to their nation of origin. Close the border and start anew with controlled immigration. Either we are a nation of law or we are the world's dumping ground.

Maybe we can get Ann Coulter to run. Her book, "Adios," tells it like it is, with no PC, and tons of examples.

The fact is, legal immigration is hurting and changing our country just as much as illegal immigration. But no Republican will say that. Some will talk about "no path to citizenship" or other wishy-washy phrases, but they won't really do anything about illegal immigration and certainly won't do anything about legal immigration. If a truly good candidate did come along, saying the kinds of things Coulter is saying, the Stupid Party would never give them the nomination. I'm hoping that Coulter's book, as well as some of the statements Trump has made, will at least force the candidates to talk about it. But my hopes are not high that anything really will be done.

And who? Anyone that questions Cruz or anyone's favorite candidate? Last I saw Jim has not endorsed a candidate and I haven't seen him accuse people of being trolls if they question a candidate.

Sad that current Cruz supporters are yelling foul and making accusations like yours, "There are trolls here, paid to convey lies about Ted Cruz." Paid? By who? How do you know? Did they say so? And what lies?

Seriously, is anyone that questions Cruz a troll?! Are you accusing me of being a paid troll?! Comical. I donated to Cruz, hundreds of dollars, beginning when he announced his campaign. I posted discussion threads supporting Cruz and recommending donations to him. Now that I question him, I'm suddenly a troll?

And about amnesty. In my book, anything short of deporting an illegal alien is amnesty. Cruz has said secure the border first, then discuss what to do with illegal aliens. He is playing us by not being explicit in the next step. He has previously said, if I recall correctly, that something short of a pathway to citizenship is possible. That is amnesty. Cruz is also on record supporting an incredible increase in H1B. Both put American citizens out of work, the former rewards people that violated our laws, disrespect our country.

Right now I am not ready to support a candidate (Yes, I stopped supporting Cruz). My litmus test on the topic is (1) securing the border (Trump is clearest on this), (2) ending Obama's ongoing amnesties (not sure if anyone is really stating explicitly what they will do with current illegal aliens in these programs), (3) deny legal status to illegal aliens, including support or recognition of illegal aliens (such as state-issued drivers licenses); (4) require eVerify or similar for all current and future temporary, part-time, or full-time workers, and (5) deport all illegal aliens.

Does that make me a troll? No.

That would bring us back to a real America. But, it seems that the younger generations are so into "self", weirdness (Jenner), unbridled pleasure (homosexuality), and being anti-authority that we no longer have enough adults to carry an election. They will see no problem with "widening the tent" and once the illegals begin to vote Dem, there will never again be a law-abiding citizenry.
