The other part of this comparison, male vs female. Except for very rare freak cases, a person is born either male or female. It's defined. It's objective.
Thus, MTV is correct in the hypothesis but wrong in the conclusion. That NAACP leader can make the subjective decision to be black; it's a choice. But Jenner cannot decide to be female. Male or female is what one is.
