Why would I say, or write, something like that?
I first came to this forum more than a decade and a half ago because the Clintonites were evading the law.
I'm just against the Authoritays having enough laws that we're all breaking them at some time or other, and then they get to pick and choose who and how they'll prosecute.
As I wrote, I consider most DUI to be "pre-crime", despite all the media propaganda to the contrary.
What you are saying is true, but its an argument for equal enforcement of law, not for equal lack of enforcement.
We need to lose a lot of the "policing". They have NO "duty" to do anything other than punch a clock, as per the Supreme Court. And there's WAY too many of them.
“While she has a rather irritating voice that only a true Bostonian can love,”
This is one Bostonian who found her accent so irritating I had to stop listening.
My own accent is worse but I’m not on the radio.
.
Been all over the radio boards with this. Howie seems to have left it alone—no chump line callers allowed to talk about it. They have worked together. Even though now she is his competition.
She went on Fri and said she would not discuss the matter, under advice of counsel. Didn’t really hear anybody calling in; maybe they weren’t taking calls, afraid that the subject would come out. She says she respects the law and the truth will come out.
I’ve lost close friends to drunk drivers. I guess I am biased.
I also know my share of celebrities ( through my job). The “Do you know who I am” crap gets people out of trouble a lot.
If they are drunk, they need to be off the road. There is no legal thing called a little drunk.
They're meant to make the people who get pinched feel guilty while they're peeling off C-notes to support the Panopticon Police State.
After a hard shift of shearing the peasants, the Panopticon operatives head down to the local tavern and tip a few back themselves. Of course, they don't worry much about their pals pinching THEM.
The problem is never addressed, with a grown-up conversation, as is the American political way. It's all about scapegoats and people feeling superior about themselves because they haven't been busted YET.
As for myself, I read the handwriting on the wall many years ago, and do not intend to contribute to the coffers of the Police State. I'm just eating popcorn, and watching the fun.
