Artificial sweeteners may do more than sweeten

I have read other studies recently that examine insulin response to artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners were approved for Type I diabetes where there is a lack of insulin. No research was done previously on Type II or insulin resistance.

In simplest terms, the body uses sugar as a direct source of immediate energy.

When one supplies the body with artificial sweeteners, the body tries to use them as ‘fuel’.

They don’t burn ‘cleanly’ like sugar does, and end up gumming up the works.
