Seems to happen a lot on these ships with dodgy crewmen. My mum almost had this happen to her at 14 when she was on a ship to Germany. This is probably what happened to that woman who went missing on that Disney cruise to. Its the perfect place for a sexual predator to victimise somebody and then dispose of the evidence.

I remember seeing a woodcut from an old POLICE GAZETTE from around the 1880s showing the same thing, a steward attacking a woman passenger.
Then in the comic sense, there is the scene from the movie CARRY ON, FOLLOW THAT CAMEL in which a woman is traveling to north Africa to fine her lover.
