When 15-month-old Caitlyn, a chocolate Staffordshire bull terrier mix, was found in Charleston County, S.C., last week, there was a thin strip of electrical tape wrapped tightly around her muzzle. The vise was so tight for so long up to 48 hours that it trapped her tongue between her teeth, cutting off the blood flow.
I have a dog thats here at my house that I found and the dogs mouth is taped shut with electrical tape, tongue hanging out its mouth, bleeding, and his tongue is completely black, a 911 caller said, according to ABC affiliate WCIV. I just dont know what to do.
The Charleston Animal Societys Facebook post documenting Caitlyns plight with a shocking photo spread far and wide. Sympathizers used the hashtag #Justice4Caitlyn to help spread the word in an effort to find the person responsible for her mistreatment, which the Animal Societys director of anti-cruelty called the most malicious case of animal abuse he has ever seen.
To leave this dog in pain, unable to eat or drink, and to now leave her in the position where her life is at stake because she may lose her tongue is heartbreaking, Aldwin Roman said in a statement.
On Monday, North Charleston police arrested 41-year-old William Leonard Dodson on a felony charge of animal torture.
His bail was set Tuesday at $50,000, according to Charleston County Circuit Court records. I dont think $50,000 really matched the pain and suffering Caitlyn has had to go through, the Animal Societys Roman said after the hearing, according to the Post and Courier. She is healing, but the damage has been done.
The newspaper reported that Charleston County Magistrate Priscilla Baldwin said another dog would be removed from Dodsons house. Dodson can not have [possession] of any animals, court...

Horrible. Horrible. Poor puppy
Well, I can’t prove that ANYTHING is real, but I’m guessing probably real. :)
Can I please be in charge of his punishment?
Just send this sick piece of excrement into a woodchipper, feet first. No sense in wasting space or oxygen on such a monster.
I would take my time with this one.
A chair and some tape.
He would go to his maker one piece at a time.
I just wanted to post this picture of the dogs progress in recovery, it's very heartening to see. Plus I also have to say that the picture of the dog with taped wrapped around her muzzle is the most infuriating picture that I have ever seen in my life. It makes me want to go completely psycho on the dude that did that.
Thanks for posting the recovery pic from the news’ story.
Hopefully this guy get a little prison time where he is abused like the dog was.
The perp is black. You can’t expect much out of him.
Why am I not surprised.
I admit I had the same initial reaction, but as I grow older, my childlike sense of moral decency... the way people should and should not behave or treat each other (or in this case animals), is just... well it’s fading.
My second grade teacher once called my mother in for a parent-teacher conference and came out with the quotable quote that I had “an overactive sense of fair-play”.
It’s still there... just fading.
It’s like, well, it’s like I am just accepting that the world is a cruel and f***ed up place full of cruel and really awful f***ed up “people”.
It’s not up to me to be a part of all that and meter out “justice”, or make things the way they “ought to be”, because really, who gives a rat’s ass what I think.
My charge is to identify those that are good and wish to help me, and those that bad and wish to harm me... and stay as far away as possible from the bad.
Worthless low I.Q. savage.
Ocean dumping is too easy...I’d rather pass him around to Freeper males one by one and let them do their thing.
He looks like the dog.
He needs to be castrated so he spawns no others like himself.
I wish I hadn’t seen that. Just, damn! Some savages need to be shot and left on the curb for trash pickup. Seriously.
Well, it’s not like I am going to go find him and have a Dexter moment with him, but I sure would love to do that.
He deserves it big time.
And yes, there are some very bad people in this world.
For the most part, I love dogs a whole lot more than I love people, and I do not love people like this guy at all.
Before I clicked the link I knew what the prep would look like.
