Agree Bogart was a great actor. My favorite actor though of the Era is the hugely talented and underrated actor William Powell who could do anything.

Here's looking at you kid..... Seriously, Bogart was a lifelong Democrat and well known liberal who made it known he was a New Dealer and also voted for Adlai Stevenson. I think we know that his last wife (Lauren Bacall) showed herself to be very left wing. Now he did publicly denounce Communism after being duped into protesting against HUAC. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that when watching movies and movie stars, I personnally try to divorce myself from their politics unless it's so egregious I can't.
