Apropos of nothing, or perhaps everything, a chapter in “Dr No” is entitled “ How to eat a girl.”
Yep. “Alpha f***s and Beta bucks.”
They want Alphas but use Betas for $upport. “Beta Thirst” is a Helluva disease.
If you haven’t seen it yet, I strongly suggest watching the movie “The Last American Virgin”, it should be required viewing for all males.
That was in Thunderball
This might be an interesting read.
First, the fallout, hahaha, from the small incident
at Fort Knox, coupled with what antics our diss Miss
Galore, and her aircrew, if not disbanded, would be
doing for funds. Might be, the Red Chinese, who bankrolled
the operation, with the, then Cosa Nostra, as the
Karl Marx useful idiots, could be making her a marked
woman.
For the folks who found Fleming childish, you are
uninformed, of the social and political arena of the time,
as well as the history of the author you mock.
Now, with Mssr. Horowitz writing this novel, and with his
closure of Foyle’s War, as he did that, I expect a few
small things, to include a stern ‘M’, the king of the
first generation boffin ‘Q’, at his best, and, of course,
a Bond, not so pc-crappy, since all will be written with
an English mind, as Fleming did.
Well, the earlier movies with Sean Connery were the closest representation of the books we got. With From Russia, with Love being the about as close as you could get.
As far as storylines go, the novels The Spy Who Loved Me, Octopussy, and Quantum of Solace, had nothing at all to do with the movie, save the title. At least The Living Daylights used something of the plot from the book. Not much, but the female cello player being the sniper, did link it to the book.
I've read all the original books by Fleming several times, and am currently on Moonraker. They're much more interesting than the movies made from them, and I would love to see a series made on the books, and actually following them, but that's a fantasy. I had hopes in the Man Who Would Be Bond series on TV, but it fell flat to me. Didn't get past the second episode.
yup, she’s ninety now.
Scroll up to see my post of her at 87.
after 50 years, she will be neither
Just realized that Honor Blackman was the same age as my dad when the film was released.
One of those facts better left unknown at that time.
LOL
Does the word "Hillary" appear anywhere in the chapter or foot notes?
Gaff?
I guess Peerdogg snagged you.
:)
For lack of a nail a shoe was lost...for lack of an “e” a meaning was lost.

In Ian Fleming’s novel, Pussy Galore is a lesbian.
The name Pussy Galore belongs on the Housewives of Atlanta with other names like;
Precious
Laquita
Mercedes
Princess
Honor Blackman may have been Pussy Galore but Gert Fröbe was the titular Goldfinger.
I can’t post a Thursday twin-spin (because I cannot locate “Miss Galore” as recorded by King George in the 60s), but here is at least one vintage song...

LOL...I had to check and, sure enough, she’s two years younger than my Dad (would be today). Yikes! Since Mom wouldn’t let me see it in ‘64, I guess that was one less thing to ponder.
And Shirley Eaton was the actress who portrayed Jill Masterson, painted from head-to-toe in gold.
