.64 caliber breechloading Ferguson flintlock rifle. As you can see in the photo, there is just enough pause between the flash and the bang to cause photographers to miss the main event.

It is, improbably enough, very accurate. It can also be reliably fired 6 times a minute without breaking a sweat and it can be loaded and fired 40 times in a row without the fouling interfering with the breech screw.

Imagine how different our Revolution would have been if the Brits had adopted the thing!
