In what way did anyone cover this up?

Do you think the Duggars owe it to the American public to advertise that these events occurred? Do you think that all juvenile criminal records should be made public? Do you think the girls’ names should be published along with their photos? Should they be interviewed on live national TV and asked how they feel about what happened to them?

When it comes to the rape of a 4 year old YES

plus when children are tried as adults in the courts their faces/names are printed in the media.

The cover up was "reporting" the incident to a family friend in law enforcement who never actually filed any report - and then himself went away on child porn charges.

The cover up was sending his abusing son to work a construction job away from home until the furor died down.

The cover up was letting the same son move back into the home of his victims.

The cover up was refusing to allow the real police to interview his pervert son until after the statute of limitations ran out.

They did not report it to authorities and the son continued living in the home. That is covering it up. As did the pedotrooper they had "talk to him" about how it could ruin HIS life.

I AGREE that the victims do not need the publicity. But once it got out it is hard to hide who it happened to. THE PARENTS are to blame for putting their daughters in the situation then AND now.
