A ConAgra cookie plant in Ripon is closing, leaving more than 300 people without a job.
Union leader Alex Gillis says the union was notified of the closing of the west plant at 8 a.m. Monday.
The plant is expected to close by the end of the year with layoffs happening in four waves, according to Gillis.
The closing will include the plant, warehouse and the Ripon Good Cookie Outlet store.

“We have done everything, not only the last two years but decades to keep Ripon on the map. Those jobs that we represent today and those families that we represent today aware going to fight until the last night to keep the plant open and I think we have a fair chance,” said Union Representative, Local 91 Alex Gillis.
